The tween and the teen go to town

Cass to me, she is hanging out the car window as we are heading out for a trip into town: "Hey, what's PMS?"

Me: "Why? Who was talking about me?"

Her: "Huh? It's in that Katy Perry song. It goes like this: You change your mind. Like a girl changes clothes. Yeah you, PMS. Like a bitch."

Me: "Oh. Well, it's like this...."

And then I proceeded to fill her in on the details of monthly hormonal hell and how it will be a dear part of her life soon enough. All this while Loren sat in the front seat wishing he was any place other than in the presence of this conversation.

Then I heard her quietly mutter, "Ah, well that makes a lot of sense now." But more audibly she said, "Oh. It's a cool song. Wanna listen to it later?"

Cass tramping about this afternoon. This is how I picture her in my mind ~full of action, hair amiss and bigger than life.
