Peer pressure

A little over a year ago, my friend Kelly Lynn said to me one day, "Hey, did you know you can watch TV online?"

It is well known that I am technically challenged when it comes to most anything that has a cord attached to it or contains microchips and I replied, "Um, no. How is that possible? There is no antenna on my laptop, duh."

Kelly went on to inform me that just by typing in NBC or ABC in my bar thingy up there at the top of the page that I could watch a wide variety of shows. This was a pretty exciting revelation to me since I don't allow cable access to the house and I am a social shut in. And so one day when the kids were with Matt I decided to give it a try. I sat down at about 9:30 in the morning and didn't get up until long after dark. In one day I managed to watch the entire season of 30 Rock and about half of The Office. Since then I have been secretly squirreling away time late at night to take down the likes of Chuck, Grey's Anatomy and Samantha Who?.

I truly thought I had it all under control until I encountered Lost. Hot damn. Because ABC.com has something like three whole seasons available to watch. And they are all in HD, whatever that means. I am behind on work but I don't really care because I am far too busy watching about that zany island. Responsibilities? Don't need 'em. Deadlines? Who cares. Kelly Lynn is like one of those playground drug pushers who start the little first graders on cigarettes and then move them on up to the harder stuff by middle school.

You totally crack me up!! The way you say things! LOL!! She's a regular pusher!!! I have never watched TV on my computer either. Kind of feel out of it now!

OMG, I had NO idea.

Thanks for the tip.

I so wish I had half the imagination the writers of Lost have.

After last night's episode, I turned to Dereck and said, "These people are INSANE." And I was totally talking about the writers.

Online television, in particular Lost and Grey's Anatomy, have made my life a much better place to be.

Well, hmmm. Kelly tells me she never watches TV. Strangely, she follows this pious proclamation by joking about her mom, who famously declares "I'm not much of a TV watcher" while moving from room to room of her house of 24/7 blaring TV sets.

I guess, TECHNICALLY, watching TV on the computer falls into the "I'm working on the computer" category. Fully deductible and respectable work, no?

Like mother like daughter, I guess. Oh Gawd!, hopefully she doesn't read your blog.
